California AB 723 Addendum
California Assembly Bill 723 (effective 2026-01-01) requires that real-estate listing photos altered by AI carry a permanent label and a means to access the unedited original.
How Boardwalk complies
- Every enhanced or virtually-staged photo is overlaid with a permanent caption ribbon: "Photo includes AI-generated/enhanced elements" or "Virtually Staged".
- A QR code is rendered into the bottom-right of every output, pointing to the unedited original.
- The original is preserved indefinitely. The QR remains resolvable for the life of the listing.
National application
We apply AB 723 disclosures to every output, regardless of state. This is a defensible best-practice that protects you when you scale into California or any state that follows.
